Don’t Erase Sexism from the Prince George Ballet Controversy

On Thursday, Aug. 22, Good Morning America co-host Lara Spencer made flippant comments about six-year-old Prince George’s interest in ballet, igniting the ire of many in the dance community.

“Oh, he looks so happy about the ballet class,” Spencer said during the segment, as images of Prince George flashed upon the screen. “Prince William says George absolutely loves ballet. I have news for you Prince William: we’ll see how long that lasts.”
